Description
The Jeu mystique de Lenormand is inspired by the classic Mle Lenormand cards, but has a completely new, individual design. Swiss artist Urban Trösch painted the images on chalk-backed boards using an egg tempera technique. This is an ancient technique used by the masters of the Middle Ages, and replaced over the years by the new oil paint. But even today, icon painters still use this technique to paint their religious representations, as for example on the Holy Mountain of Athos in Greece. Urban Trösch has created a mystical atmosphere with each of the 36 cards. Generally speaking, the colorful frames of the icons plunge the viewer into a new world. This impression is echoed in the Lenormand Mystical Game by the windows surrounding each image. As we draw the cards, we are also transported to another reality, a higher consciousness.
